Over the five full years from 2021 to 2025, the stock fell in three years and rose in two. The 2020 close was €43.85, per boerse.de. The 2026 gain so far comes after two heavy losing years, so it starts from a low base.

Why did TeamViewer stock fall so far?

Several setbacks weighed on the shares. Growth slowed after the pandemic boom, and a profit warning followed in October 2025.

TeamViewer cut its 2025 ARR target to €780m to €800m, from €815m to €840m, per Nasdaq/RTTNews. It also lowered its preliminary 2026 revenue view to €790m to €825m. The stock fell 21.6% that day to a record low, per Börse Global.

A further setback was the cautious 2026 outlook on 10 February 2026. The shares fell up to 9% that day to €5.37, per dpa-AFX via Börse Online. Fears about AI hurting software firms added pressure in the weeks after.

How the 2026 rebound unfolded

The low came in April near €4.09, per stock3. A recovery followed in May and July. The 2026 high so far is about €7.29 on Xetra.

The Americas made up about 35% of Q2 revenue. This region carried churn effects in the DEX business, per the Q2 release. It also explains why the US dollar matters so much for reported figures.

Profit and cash flow

The adjusted EBITDA margin was 43.2% in Q2. Excluding FX, it would have been 44.4%. Marketing costs fell 28%, while R&D spending rose 12%, per the Q2 release.

TeamViewer Guidance 2026 and What H2 Needs

FY2026 guidance in detail

The TeamViewer guidance reaffirmed in July has two parts. Revenue should grow 0% to 3% at constant currency against the pro forma 2025 base of €767.5m. The adjusted EBITDA margin should be around 43%, per the Q2 release.

Guidance item FY2025 pro forma base FY2026 target
Revenue growth (cc) €767.5m 0% to 3%
Adjusted EBITDA margin 44.3% About 43%
Expected FX impact on growth n/a About -2.4 percentage points
Net leverage 2.6x at end-2025 About 2.3x by end-2026 (internal goal)

Source: TeamViewer Q2 2026 release and EQS, FY2025 results. Forecasts are not a reliable indicator of future performance.

The TeamViewer mid-term targets aim for mid to high single-digit growth at similar margins, per the FY2025 release. The company has not given a date for that goal.

The H2 arithmetic

H1 2026 revenue was €365.9m. Q3 and Q4 2025 together brought in about €386.6m on a pro forma basis. The table below shows what the full-year range implies for H2 in reported euros. These are our own estimates, using the -2.4 point FX effect.

Outcome FY2026 reported revenue (est.) H2 2026 revenue needed (est.) H2 change vs H2 2025 (est.)
Bottom of range (0% cc) About €749m About €383m About -1%
Top of range (3% cc) About €772m About €406m About +5%

Source: own calculations from the TeamViewer Q2 2026 release and Nasdaq/RTTNews. Forecasts are not a reliable indicator of future performance.

On these estimates, the bottom of the range needs H2 revenue about 1% below H2 2025 in reported euros. H1 2026 revenue was 3.9% lower than a year earlier in reported terms. The top of the range would need a clear pick-up in Q3 and Q4.

What Drives TeamViewer Stock?

Enterprise growth and the TeamViewer 1E turnaround

1E was the main cause of the 2025 profit warning. In Q1 2026, Enterprise ARR absorbed about €8m of one-off 1E churn, per Deutsche Börse/EQS. In Q2, the company said DEX churn fell to its lowest level since the deal, per the Q2 2026 release.

Large customers also signed multi-year renewals in Q2. A new partnership with ServiceNow will offer TeamViewer tools to ServiceNow customers as an add-on. These points come from the Q2 2026 release.

TeamViewer SMB churn

SMB is about 68% of group ARR (€501.4m of €736.8m). It is still shrinking. The company says churn among smaller customers began to stabilise in June, per the Q2 2026 release. Q3 will show whether that trend held over the summer.

AI disruption and the software sector

In February 2026, Bernstein named TeamViewer among stocks at risk from AI, per stock3. The worry is that AI agents could make remote support tools less needed.

TeamViewer argues the opposite. About 49,000 customers had used its AI features by 25 July 2026. Cumulative AI sessions passed 2.8m, per the Q2 release. Both views can be argued from the data.

The euro and EUR/USD

TeamViewer reports in euros, while a large share of sales is in US dollars. A weaker euro lifts reported revenue. A stronger euro does the reverse.

EUR/USD fell from a 2026 high of 1.2081 on 27 January to 1.1156 on 12 October, per Pound Sterling Live. The average rate in Q2 2026 was 1.16, against 1.13 a year earlier, per the Q2 2026 release. If the euro stays near current levels, the currency drag on Q4 could ease.

Sector flows and M&A news

TeamViewer often moves with European software stocks. On 14 August 2026, reports of a possible bid for Workday by Silver Lake lifted the sector. TeamViewer gained 5.1% that day, per Börsen-Zeitung.

XTB also described European software stocks as the main support for indices that day. The link works both ways. A sector sell-off could weigh on TMV even without company news.

Index status and regulatory news

TeamViewer moved from the MDAX to the SDAX on 23 March 2026 after a regular index review, per Börse Express. The September 2026 review left it unchanged, per Deutsche Börse. Index demotions can lead to selling by passive funds.

In July 2026, BaFin fined TeamViewer €240,000 over late ad hoc disclosure of a June 2024 cyberattack, per cash.ch. The amount is small. It still points to scrutiny of disclosure practices.

In early October 2026, Marble Bar Asset Management reported a net short position of 0.87%, per Trading-Treff. The same week, TeamViewer released security updates for five flaws in its software.

TeamViewer Valuation

The table below shows TeamViewer's valuation on consensus numbers. The table uses the €6.90 close and about 157.8m shares outstanding.

Measure Value (est.) Basis
Market capitalisation About €1.09bn €6.90 x 157.8m shares
Enterprise value About €1.92bn Market cap plus €832.8m net debt
TeamViewer P/E ratio 2026E About 8.2x Consensus EPS €0.84
P/E 2027E About 7.3x Consensus EPS €0.95
TeamViewer EV/EBITDA 2026E About 5.9x Consensus EBITDA €327m
TeamViewer EV/sales 2026E About 2.5x Consensus revenue €760m

Source: own calculations from boerse.de, TeamViewer Q2 2026 release and MarketScreener estimates. Forecasts are not a reliable indicator of future performance.

A low multiple can reflect value. It can also reflect doubts about growth and debt. Net debt is equal to about 76% of the equity value, which adds to the risk for shareholders if profits fall.

The Q3 results may test one claim in particular: that revenue growth returns in H2 2026. Margins and debt also matter. The current multiples may reflect doubts about that growth.

How to Trade TeamViewer Stock

Ways to gain exposure

There are two common routes. Investors can buy the shares on Xetra or another German exchange through a broker. Traders can also use contracts for difference, which track the price without owning the share.

Admirals lists a TeamViewer AG CFD (#TMV.DE) among its CFDs on shares. CFDs on shares can be traded on MetaTrader 5. Our article on CFD trading explains how these contracts work.

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

Risk management around earnings

Earnings days can bring sharp gaps. TeamViewer fell 21.6% on the day of its October 2025 warning. Many traders use these habits to manage risk:

  • Some traders cut position size before a results release.
  • Stop-loss orders can limit losses, although gaps can cause slippage.
  • Traders often wait for the analyst call before acting on the headline numbers.
  • Some traders compare the reaction with peers such as SAP.
