How to Download MetaTrader 4 on PC
In order to download MetaTrader 4 for PC, you must be running at least Windows 7. In the following sections, we will guide you through how to download MT4 for Windows in 4 steps.
1. Register with Admiral Markets
In order to download MetaTrader 4 for Windows, you’ll firstly need to register with Admiral Markets. Once you’ve done this, or if you already have an account, log in to the Dashboard.
2. Download the MT4 Installer
Once inside the Dashboard, select ‘MetaTrader’ from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you will find the download packages for both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, as well as links to the MetaTrader WebTrader.
Select MetaTrader 4 at the top of the screen and then click ‘MetaTrader 4 for Windows’ to download the installation file.
3. Open the Installation File
Once downloaded, open the installation file and follow the instructions. You will need to read and agree to the software license agreement before being able to proceed.
After the installation process has completed, you’ll receive a confirmation message that the platform has been downloaded successfully.
4. Downloaded!
Following the successful download, MetaTrader 4 should open automatically. If it does not, then you can open the platform by locating the icon on your computer desktop.

How to Login to MetaTrader 4 on PC
The first time that MetaTrader 4 opens, a dialogue box will be displayed prompting you to select a trading server to log in to an account. Select the relevant server and click ‘Next’ to enter your account details.

You can now start exploring the different features of MT4, viewing live price charts and placing trades.

In order to open a price chart and place a trade, you will need to select the instrument you wish to trade from the ‘Market Watch’ window on the left of the screen. If Market Watch is not displayed, press Control + M to open it.
